Bachelor of Social Work – Degree Completion Program

A Georgian Court University – Brookdale Community College Partnership

Discover a different path to a career that makes a difference: DEGREE UP! with Georgian Court University and Brookdale Community College. Our new Bachelor of Social Work (B.S.W.) degree completion program lets you transfer to Georgian Court University after completing your A.S. in Human Services degree—without having to change campus!

In our convenient four-semester program, you’ll cover the same curriculum taught at our Lakewood campus. You’ll work with Georgian Court professors who have real-world knowledge and experience in social work, and you’ll even complete hands-on fieldwork.

The result? A degree that offers the critical thinking skills, practical knowledge, and ethical foundation you need to become a change agent who works towards a better, more just world for all.

Our B.S.W. completion program is also accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (C.S.W.E.). After graduation, you will be prepared to apply for Certified Social Worker (C.S.W.) status from the New Jersey State Board of Social Work Examiners.

Career and Continuing Education Opportunities

With your B.S.W. degree and C.S.W. certification, you can pursue entry-level careers in social work. You can make a difference as an activity director, program coordinator, workshop director, or other support administrator for:

  • private or public social services organizations
  • county and home health agencies
  • group homes
  • nursing homes

In addition, completing your bachelor’s degree with us lets you enroll with advanced standing in our Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) degree program, meaning you can complete your master’s degree in one year instead of the usual two. If earning Licensed Social Worker (L.S.W.) status is your goal, we have made your long-term plans somewhat shorter!
